About UYEGP Scheme
This scheme was started by the MSME Department of the Tamil Nadu government for the youth. This scheme will provide beneficiaries with up to 25% of project costs in subsidies. With the help of this scheme, beneficiaries will get loans up to 90-95% of the project cost. This scheme will solve the problem of the people who want urgent funds in order to start a new business because sometimes banks won’t assist people for the first time. This scheme will reduce the unemployment rate among socially and financially deprived people. Tamil Nadu UYEGP Scheme Objective
The main objective of the government to start this scheme is to provide loans to people who are educated, socially and financially unstable, and wants to start their own business in Tamil Nadu state. With the help of this scheme, these youth can start their own service, manufacturing companies, and some others business. This scheme will serve all the poor sections of society means the government is trying to make a better life for citizens of minority groups.

- The promoter is going to give 10% to the general scheme and 5% to the special category scheme for helping the financially and socially depressed segments of society with their unemployment problems.
- The maximum project cost under this scheme for manufacturing, service, and business sectors is Rs. 10 lakhs, Rs. 3 lakhs, and Rs. 1 lakhs respectively.
- Only units can take advantage of this scheme.
- The government will provide only a 25% of subsidy on project costs with a maximum limit of Rs. 1 lakhs 25 thousand.
- For loan amounts of up to 10 lakhs bank does not require any collateral security.
- The interest rate on the loan will be decided according to the Reserve Bank Of India Policy.
- The government subsidy lock-in period is 3 years.
- Loan repayment time will be 5 years or as decided by the bank according to the guidance of RBI.
- Applicants have to take a seven-day course as part of the Entrepreneur Development Program (EDP).
UYEGP Scheme Eligibility Criteria

- Applicant must have done minimum qualification till class 8th.
- The minimum age to apply for this scheme is 18 years.
- Maxim age to apply for this scheme is 45 years for the special category and 35 for the general category.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should not be more than 5 lakhs per annum.
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu or he/she must be living in Tamil Nadu for the past three years.
- Applicants should not have taken any loan or subsidy under any other State/Central government scheme.
- Applicants must have to take a seven day course as part of the Entrepreneur Development Program (EDP).
