The Odisha Ration Card Rs1000 Scheme, among the 26 proposals sanctioned by the Odisha cabinet government, is designed for the well-being of the populace. This initiative aims to provide a sum of one thousand rupees to 95.90 lakh PDS beneficiaries, encompassing families with a total of 3,35,98,401 members. The implementation of this scheme requires a financial allocation of ₹959.05 crore.
Additionally, the government intends to distribute two complimentary jute carry bags, with capacities of 20 kg and 10 kg respectively, estimated to cost ₹278.69 crore. This step is taken in response to the rising prices of essential commodities and the challenges faced by PDS-supported households.
