UPDATE:- The Odisha Government has decided to extend the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) farmers’ welfare scheme for an additional three years, allocating a budget of Rs. 6029.70 crores from 2024-25 to 2026-27. This move aims to ensure the seamless implementation of the scheme, integrating farmers into the financial mainstream and fostering their participation in the state’s economic advancement.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the State Cabinet approved an estimated budget to benefit all farm families covered by KALIA schemes during the upcoming three-year period. The KALIA Yojana has been in effect since 2018-19, recognizing the significant dependence of the state’s population on agriculture for their livelihood.

The primary objectives of the KALIA scheme include accelerating agricultural prosperity, promoting progress, and alleviating poverty among farmers and landless agricultural households. Additionally, the State introduced the KALIA Scholarship to support the educational development of beneficiaries’ children, enabling them to pursue professional and technical education in various institutions. This initiative is crucial for the future progress of farmer families.

To further facilitate the well-being of farmers and ensure the smooth procurement of agricultural inputs, the government may advance the release dates for KALIA assistance. Specifically, assistance for the Kharif season could begin from April 15 onwards, and for the Rabi season, it could start from September 1 onwards, based on the government’s periodic decisions.

Moreover, landless agricultural households that have already received the full Rs. 12,500 in installments will be eligible for additional financial support, as determined by the government at various intervals. This approach underscores the government’s commitment to the welfare and broader interests of the state’s farmers.

About Kalia Yojana 2024

The Government of Odisha state has launched a new scheme known as Kalia Yojana. Under this scheme the financial help of Rs. 5,000 will be provided to the farmers of the state so that they would be able to carry out their activities without thinking about any financial hurdle. Objective Of Kalia Yojana

As we all know the farmers of a country are not satisfied with the amount of income that they generate as this is not sufficient to carry on their day-to-day activities. By keeping this in view the Government of Odisha state has launched Kalia Yojana. Under this scheme, Rs 5,000 will be provided to the farmers for five seasons so that they would be able to carry on their day-to-day activities without thinking about any financial hurdle.

Details Of Kalia Yojana

List Of Available Facilities

The list of available facilities are as follows:-

  • Rs. 25,000/- will be provided to the small and marginal farmers.
  • Rs. 12,500/- will be given to the landless agricultural households.
  • Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to the vulnerable cultivators and landless agriculture farmers.
  • 2 lakhs of life insurance coverage will be provided to the farmers such as cultivators and landless agricultural labourers.
  • Loan of Rs. 50,000/- will be provided to the farmers in the form of crop loans.

Highest No Of Beneficiaries From Puri District

The Government of Odisha has provided financial assistance to around thousands or lakhs of small and marginal farmers. It will be surprising for you to know that the Puri District in the Odisha State is the district which has received the highest number of beneficiaries. Around 1,65,132 small & marginal farmers have enrolled under this scheme. Government has also sanctioned an amount of Rs. 33 crores for benefitting these beneficiaries.

Around 37 Lakhs Farmers Got Benefit

On the 11th September 2021, Government of Odisha has provided financial assistance for carrying out agricultural activities to around 37 lakhs of farmers belonging to the small or marginal farmer categories. Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 743 crores for transferring the amount of benefit to the bank accounts of the eligible farmers. 

Sharecroppers Got Financial Support

Around 57,614 sharecroppers have been become abled to get benefit under Kalia Scheme from the Ganjam District. This information has been collected or gathered from the Minister Of Agriculture Department. Small as well as Marginal farmers have received an amount of benefit from each district covered under the Odisha State. There are around 36,98,018 small and marginal farmers who have got their benefit after getting enrollment under this scheme.

Facilitation Of Kalia Scheme Correction Form

The Government of Odisha has come up with the Kalia Scheme Correction Form so that the applicants who have filed their application forms with the wrong or incorrect details will be able to get it rectified after filling the correction form of this scheme again. For getting this form, the applicant will need to visit the official website for downloading this correction form. The applicant will need to fill this form alongwith attaching all the relevant documents then submit this form to the same concerned department.

Arrival Of KALIA Scheme List

Now the eligible applicants who have applied under KALIA Scheme can check their names after visiting the official website because the State Government of Odisha has launched the New List of Kalia Scheme and the same has been uploaded on the web portal. This list will secure the interests of those farmers who want to track or check their application status after getting enrollment for a long time.

Releasing Of 2nd Installment

Chief Minister of Odisha Mr. Naveen Patnaik has released the second installment of KALIA Scheme on the 11th September 2021 while releasing an amount of Rs. 742 crores to the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries through the DBT mode. There are around 37.12 lakhs of farmers belonging to the landless farming families who have been able to get benefit under this 2nd installment.

Puri District’s Farmers Got Benefit Of Kalia Yojana


As we all know, the chief minister of Odisha state has launched Kalia Yojana in order to provide financial assistance to the farmers of the state. With the help of this scheme, the farmers’ debt will also be reduced. The chief minister has disbursed the financial assistance to the farmers of Puri District under this scheme on 3rd November 2021. Around 1,65,132 small and marginal farmers of this District got the financial assistance of Rs. 33 crores. Assistance of Kalia Yojana

The Government of Orissa State has transferred the installment for the year 2021 on 12 February 2021. With the help of this installment, around 53 lakh farmers of the state have been benefited. The chief minister has transferred around Rs. 1272 crores in the installment of Rs. 2000 to the bank account of the beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer method. Released Of Rs. 743 Crores Into 37 Lakh Farmer’s Account

The respected Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 11th September 2021 during the special occasion of Nuakhai released the assistance. According to the statement, the chief minister has distributed Rs. 743 crores into the bank account of 37.12 lakh small and marginal farmers across the state for the Rabi season under KALIA Yojana. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that farmers’ problems are the problem for all of us and it can never be ignored. The Government of Odisha is also monitoring the situation. Also, it is said by the Chief Minister Who worked on the advice of the department of agriculture for the smooth running.

Financial Assistance To Sharecroppers

A total number of 57,614 sharecroppers have received financial assistance under KALIA Yojana. Out of total sharecroppers, the highest assistance under this scheme has been provided to the sharecroppers of the Ganjam district. On 1st September 2021, 14531 farmers got financial assistance under Krushak Assistance For Livelihood and Income Augmentation program. This information has been given by the agriculture minister Arun Kumar Sahu. Around 36,98,018 small and marginal farmers across the state got benefited under this scheme. Special Assistance For Farmers Under KALIA Yojana

The Government of Odisha state has announced a special package for the farmers’ tribals and others under KALIA Yojana. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday, 17th June 2021 announced that Rs. 1690 crores covid-19 assistance package will be provided to the landless farmers, construction workers, NREGA workers, tribal groups. Under the package, the financial assistance of Rs. 1000 will be provided to around 11.79 landless farmers of the state who did not receive their third installment under Kalia Yojana.

Components Of Kalia Yojana

There are 5 components of Kalia Yojana which are given below

Assistance For Cultivation

farmers will be rewarded with Rs. 25,000 per family for 5 seasons. This assistance will be provided to the small and marginal farmers of the state. Around 5000 per season for the purchase of inputs like Seeds, Fertilizers, Pesticides, and Assistance towards labor will be provided to the farmers.

Assistance For Livelihood

financial assistance of Rs 12,500 to the SC/ ST farmers who are landless for agricultural activities like small goat rearing unit, Mini layer unit, duckery units, fishery kits for fisherman, mushroom cultivation, and beekeeping.

Assistance For Vulnerable Agriculture Household

the farmers who are not able to do the cultivation due to old age having disability or diseases or any other reason will get the financial amount of Rs 10,000 to each vulnerable cultivator landless agricultural labor.

Life Insurance for Cultivators and Agricultural Labourers

the life insurance of Rs 2 lakhs will be given with the premium of Rs 330/- per annum. This insurance will be provided to the savings bank account holders of ages between 18 to 50 years. Out of Rs 330 premium, Rs 165 will be provided by the government of Odisha. Along with the life insurance, the accident cover will also be provided of Rs 2 lakh with the premium of Rs 12. This accident cover will be provided to the savings bank account holders of ages between 51 to 70 years.

Interest-Free Crop Loan

the vulnerable brandless labor cultivators who share properties and agricultural families who are identified by the gram panchayat will get crop loans of Rs 50,000 on zero percent interest.

Sir, I was named and called Sitanath Rath s/o Niranjan Rath who is my born father and my education certificates have been prepared but now I am adopted made by Bhagaban Satapathy as my father accordingly now lam accepted as Sitanath Satapathy. S/o Bhagaban Satapathy instead of Sitanath Rath S/o Niranjan Rath, please give me Kalia yojana money, thanks, you sir 🙏🙏
