About NGO Darpan Portal
Under the supervision of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, National Informatics Centre (NIC), the premier ICT Organisation of the Government of India has developed the module. It is a platform which acts as interface between VOs (Voluntary Organizations) / NGOs (Non Governmental Organizations) and key Government Ministries / Departments / Government Bodies. This facility is free to use which is offered by the NITI Aayog (National Institute for Transforming India) in conglomeration with National Informatics Centre to establish great partnership between government and voluntary sector which will nurture better transparency, efficiency and accountability. Currently this portal is managed by NITI Aayog.

- Registration Certificate of the NGO / entity
- PAN Card of the NGO
- PAN Card and Aadhar Card of three members of the NGO’s executive committee

To establish great partnership between government and voluntary sector NITI Aayog (National Institute for Transforming India) in conglomeration with National Informatics Centre has started this free facility without any registration fees.
Registration Procedure for NGO Darpan Portal
However it is mandatory for NGOs and VOs to register under NGO Darpan Portal to receive grants and assistance from the central or state government. NGOs and VOs should register under NGO Darpan Portal and obtain Darpan Certificate or Unique ID to apply for government funds and be qualified for FCRA registration. Follow the below mentioned steps for registration:
- Visit the NGO Darpan Official Website at https://ngodarpan.gov.in/.
- On homepage click on “Login/Register” button.
- Click on “Sign Up” option.
- Enter the name of the NGO / VO, Mobile Number, email and security code.
- Then click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Enter contact person name, mobile number and email.
- Then enter the OTP and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Enter the PAN of the NGO/entity.
- Create a password and sign in to the portal.
- Enter the NGO/VO details, such as name, PAN, address, email registered with, registration number, registration validity, FCRA details and click on the ‘Save’ button.
- Enter the member details, such as name, date of birth, designation, mobile number, and Aadhaar number and click on the ‘Save’ button.
- Enter the details about the source of funds, key contact information, and working area and click on the ‘Save’ button. A message will be displayed when the account is 100% complete.
- After the completion of profile, the administrator will verify the documents and send an email to the applicant to generate Unique ID.
- After receiving the email sign in and generate the unique ID.

The Unique Id is the Id, which will be shown to you just after Signing Up. It will be something like AB/2010/0001234.
