About NSAP (National Social Assistance Programme)
The Ministry of Rural Development has administered the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). This programme is being executed in both rural areas as well as urban areas. The program is launched to provide assistance to citizens in their basic needs of livelihood such as, raise the standard of living, improve public health, provide free and compulsory education for children etc. Specially in Article 41 of the Constitution of India it is stated that the Government will provide public assistance to its citizens specially to those who are unemployed, old age, sickness and disablement.
