About Khelo India Scholarship Scheme
Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in the year 2018 has launched Khelo India Programme to improve the sports culture in India. Sports Authority of India has released an Out-of-Pocket Allowance of Rs. 7,71,30,000/- for about 3000 Khelo India Athletes for Quarter 4. This amount released is a part of a Khelo India Scholarship Scheme. Sports Authority of India (SAI) will provide allowance of Rs. 1,20,000/- per annum per athlete. Along with this Rs. 5 Lakh will be spent on each athlete for training and competition. The entire amount released to the athletes for Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 for 2023-24 is Rs. 30,83,30,000/-.
