About Orunodoi Scheme Assam 2024

The Government of Assam has launched a new scheme in order to provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries. This assistance will be given to them in order to buy fundamental items. This scheme is known as the Orunodoi Scheme Assam. Under this scheme, the Government will provide an amount of Rs.830 every month. This amount is provided for buying fundamental items like medicine, sugar, pulses e.t.c. The amount is decided on the basis of the item. This scheme will provide Rs.400 for buying medicine. In spite of that, it will provide Rs.200 to the beneficiaries for buying 4 kilograms of pulses of their choice. It will also provide Rs.80 for buying pulses and Rs. 150 for buying fruits.

  • This scheme will provide An amount which is divided into many parts according to the category of the item.
  • The Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 2400 Crore annually for this scheme.

Selection Procedure Under Assam Orunodoi Scheme

The selection procedure under this scheme is as follows:-

  • Under this scheme, preliminary selection will be completed at the village council development committee/Gaun Panchayat/urban local body
  • The village council development committee/Gaun Panchayat/urban local body is needed to make an undertaking cum checklist as per the eligibility/ineligibility conditions
  • Then the checklist will be connected to Annexure A
  • This checklist will be assembled LAC wise by the member secretary, DLMC so that it can be raised at the district level monitoring committee for prioritisation and selection
  • Along with that, the district-level committee is needed to prioritise the list of all applicants.
  • Certainly, this committee will be in charge of ensuring the filing of comprehensive application forms of concerning beneficiaries
  • With the help of this form, the bank details and other information will be gathered.
  • In the end, the approved final list will be uploaded.
  • After the uploading process, the details of the beneficiaries will be substantiated.
  • If there is some discrepancy in the information then it will be addressed
  • After completing all the essential processes the finance department is going to hand over the amount into the bank account of beneficiaries through the PFMS(Public financial method system).
  • Each year review of the list of the beneficiary will take place. Furthermore, inclusions/exclusions will be made as per the requirement.
  • All the data associated with beneficiaries will be kept by the finance department in a database.
  • It should be noted that if an applicant is obtaining the advantages of this scheme despite being unqualified, then the applicant is liable to refund the amount received under this scheme.
  • A district-level monitoring committee will finalise the list of all the beneficiaries as per the guidelines.

Implementation Structure Of Assam Orunodoi Scheme

The implementation structure of this scheme is as follows:-

  • For effective implementation of this scheme at the district level and in order to aid the applicants in every district, the government is initiating to appoint an Orunodoi Sahayak at a fixed amount of Rs 15000 per month in all the legislative assemblies.
  • The Sahayak will be appointed for 2 months.
  • The district-level monitoring committee will determine the qualification of Orunodoi Sahayak.
  • After the examination of all the applications, the district level monitoring committee under the chairmanship of DC will designate the Orunodoi Sahayak.
  • The finance department of government Assam will be responsible for the monitoring of the Assam Orunodoi scheme.
  • The commissioner and secretary of the finance department will implement this scheme under their own supervision.
  • The finance department of Assam is entitled as the state-level nodal agency for the implementation process.
  •  The deputy commissioner will supervise the implementation strategy of the scheme at the district level.
  • For district levels, the government will also form a district level monitoring committee.

  • Families owning 15 Bighas of land, four-wheeler, refrigerator, having income above Rs. 2 lakh, and their own tractor are also not eligible for the Orunodoi scheme.
