Odisha Garima Scheme:- The government of Odisha always puts effort into supporting the people of the state. The state government started the Garima Scheme with an aim to support about 20,000 sanitary employees and their families. According to this scheme, the state government decided to protect the sanitation personnel from any harm. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik introduced the Odisha Garima Scheme. This initiative will ensure the safety and dignity of the sanitation workers. As per the scheme, the sanitation people will also be given skill-building training. If any individual decides to opt for an alternate career, then they will be provided counseling to obtain new skills and financial assistance. This scheme is the first initiative taken by the Odisha government to institutionalize and regulate core sanitation services.

Odisha Garima Scheme 2024
Garima Scheme Odisha will be a welcome initiative that will help in enhancing the conditions and lives of sanitation employees. Garima Scheme will be protecting the safety and dignity of sanitation workers. With the help of the scheme, many employees will be given service-level benefits, financial advantages, and social security to sanitation workers and their families. The state government decided to generate Rs. 50 crore funds for the successful implementation of the scheme. There are some other benefits such as special salaries for core sanitation work, risk & hardship allowance, financial help to families if any accident or injury occurs, house allowances, and buying of two-wheelers for 90% of the cost. The sanitation employees and their families will also get retirement assistance, post-service benefits, and a sickness allowance.
