Objectives of E Shram Card Self Registration 2023

The main objective of launching the E Shram Card Self Registration is to provide self-assurance to the citizens that they can apply online for receiving or getting the labour card which is known as E Shram Card by themselves without spending money on cyber cafes for applying for this card with the help of self-registration process.

Another objective of launching the E Shram Card Self Registration is to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 3,000/-on a monthly basis so that the citizens or workers belonging to the unorganized sectors will be able to develop themselves further after getting the incentive provided by the Central Government.

Exploration of Employment Opportunities

Labours or citizens who have applied for the E Shram Card will be able to explore some of the employment opportunities on the basis of the financial assistance or incentive amount which they have received from the Government of India. This will also generate some of the job facilities for such workers or labourers that belong to the unorganized sectors.

Incentive Amount

After getting the Labor Card or E Shram Card provided by the GOI to them, the citizens or beneficiaries will be able to receive the incentive amount in the form of a pension. Financial assistance ranging from Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 3,000/- will be provided to each eligible beneficiary. This will also be applicable to those citizens who have reached the age of 60.

Claim Settlement After Beneficiary’s Death

In case the main applicant or E Shram Card Holder has died, the pension amount which was being provided to him or her for a time will get provided to his or her life partner if the cardholder has a marital status which means claim settlement is possible after the death of the cardholder. A pension amount of Rs. 1500/- will be provided to the life partner.

Age Limit

There are certain limitations and rules that will be applied to the beneficiary or applicant applying for the E Shram Card or Labor Card. The applicant must possess the age limit which has been specified by the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The applicant must belong to the age group of 16 to 59 years.

Facilitation of E Shram Portal

E Shram Portal has been facilitated by the Government of India with the active participation of the Ministry of Labor & Employment so that the Ministry will be able to keep a centralized record or database of every citizen belonging to the unorganized sector such as construction workers, migrant worker, gig and platform worker, street vendor, domestic worker, agriculture worker etc.

Association of PMSBY With E Shram

Applicants who have enrolled or registered themselves to the eSHRAM Portal will be automatically get applied under the PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) for the duration of 1 year covering 12 months. At the time of the transaction, the premium amount will get debited from the account holder.  At the time of the beneficiary’s death, Rs. 2, 00,000/- will be provided to the beneficiary.
