About Char Dham Yatra
The Char Dham Yatra is a program which is introduced by Adi Shankaracharya and is run by the Government of Uttarakhand for all the Hindu Devotees across India. This scheme is specially launched for the Hindu Devotees so that they can perform their Hindu pilgrimage easily. The online registration will start from April 15 after the announcement of the auspicious time for the opening of the portals of Yamunotri Dham by the temple priests on April 14. And the offline registration will start at 8 to 10 centers from Rishikesh later on in Haridwar. Char Dham shrines remain close for about six months every year and opens in summer (in April or May) and closes with the onset of winter (in October or November). The portals of Badrinath Dham will be opened at 6 am on May 12 this year. The portal of Kedarnath shrine will open on May 10. The portals of Gangotri shrine will open at 12.25pm on May 10.
