Tamil Nadu Free Sewing Machine Scheme 2024:- Tamil Nadu government always put efforts to support women of the state. The state government started TN Free Sewing Machine Scheme with an aim to provide sewing machines to the women. This scheme will open gates of opportunities for self-employment. It will help many women of the state to have source of income. The social welfare and nutritious meal programme department implemented the scheme. Under this scheme, the members of women’s industrial cooperative societies will receive 15500 advanced sewing machines with 10% government subsidy.

Through TN Free Sewing Machine Scheme, women will be able to earn for themselves and her family. Women of the state will become independent and empowered. According to the scheme, the cloth for the free supply of uniforms given to the 32 cutting centres. These are 32 cutting centres works for the control of the social welfare department. In the cutting centre, the cutting of the clothes is done and then the concerned tailoring societies stitch the uniform with cut clothes. After the completion of the work, these concerned tailoring societies sent this stitched uniform to the 413 AEEOs and 67 DEOs of the Education Department. At Salem and Tiruvannamalai, Women tailoring training centres are operational under this scheme. Every year, 35 tribal women are given training at these centres.
