Odisha Mamata Yojana 2024

The government of Odisha state has launched Odisha Mamata Yojana. Under this scheme, the government of Odisha will provide financial assistance to pregnant & lactating women’s for their personal development. Through this financial assistance, the women’s can improve their nutrition and encourage health seeking behavior. The money will be given in two installments. One installment is of Rs.3,000 and the second installment is of Rs.2,000. The government will try to give the best possible facilities to mother & child so that they do not have to suffer malnutrition or any other health related problem. Through this scheme the maternity or infant mortality rate will also reduce in Odisha state. This scheme will be supervised by Department of Women & Child Development of Odisha.

UPDATE:- On Tuesday, the Odisha government announced a significant enhancement in financial support for pregnant women under the Mamata Yojana. Previously, expectant mothers and lactating women were granted Rs 5000 in two installments. However, with the recent decision, this assistance has been doubled, and they will now receive Rs 10,000. The increased amount will be provided retrospectively from August 2023, and beneficiaries can expect to receive the accumulated benefit between February 20 and 25.

Beneficiaries of the Mamata Yojana will receive augmented financial aid in two stages, deposited into their bank passbooks. The initial installment of Rs 6000 will be disbursed after six months of pregnancy, followed by the second and final installment of Rs 4000, which will be provided when the child reaches 10 months of age.

Objective of Odisha Mamata Yojana

The main objective of Odisha government to launch Odisha Mamata Scheme is to provide financial assistance to pregnant & lactating women’s of Odisha so that they or their child do not have to suffer malnutrition or any other health related problem. Through this scheme the maternity or infant mortality rate will also reduce in Odisha. Financial assistance provided in this scheme will help mother to get maternal & child care services especially antenatal care, postnatal care & immunization. The beneficiaries women will also receive partial wage compensation in the form financial assistance so that they can rest properly while they are pregnant & after delivery.

Installment Under Odisha Mamata Scheme

First Installment : Under the first installment Rs 3000/- will be provided. This assistance will be provided during the third trimester of pregnancy. The beneficiary has to fulfill the below-mentioned five conditions in order to get the benefit amount:-

  • Pregnancy registered with Anganwadi center/Mini Anganwadi center
  • Have to Receive at least two antenatal check-ups
  • Received IFA tablets
  • Have Received at least one TT vaccination
  • Received at least one counselling session at AWC/ village health and nutrition day/ home visit

Second Installment : After 10 months of delivery Rs 2,000 will give to the beneficiaries. In order to get the second installment, the beneficiary has to fulfill the below-mentioned 11 conditions:-

  • Childbirth should register at AWC or HSC.
  • Before attaining the age of 1 year the child should have received vitamin A first dose.
  • The child should have received rotavirus 1, 2 and 3 vaccination.
  • Before attaining the age of 1 year the child should have received a measles vaccination.
  • The child should have received 1, 2, and 3 polio vaccination.
  • The child should have received a BCG vaccination.
  • Pentavalent 1, 2, and 3 vaccination should have been received by the child.
  • After delivery till 9 months, the mother should have attended at least 6 growth monitoring and IYCF counseling sessions.
  • The childhood have been fed age-appropriate complementary feeding and continuing(self-certification).
  • After attaining the age of 6 months the child should have been introduced to complimentary food(self-certification).
  • The child should have been exclusively breastfed for six months(self-certification).

Mamata Yojana Eligibility Criteria

To apply or get benefit of any scheme, the candidate has to pass the eligibility standard given by government for that scheme. Below we have provided you the eligibility criteria to apply for Odisha Mamata Yojana

  • The women who is applying must be a permanent resident of Odisha state.
  • The age of the women should be more than 19 years.
  • To get the benefit of this scheme, it is compulsory that the women should be registered in Angadwadi center.
  • This benefit will only be provided when the new born is mother’s first or second child.
  • Only pregnant & lactating women’s will get benefit.
  • Government/public sector women employees will not get any benefit from this scheme.

Procedure To Register Yourself For Odisha Mamata Scheme 2024

  • Firstly it is mandatory, to register yourself with the Angadwadi Center or a mini Angadwadi Center .
  • You are required to register yourself within three months of conception.
  • The officials will verify your identity and check the details regarding your residence.
  • After verifying, you will be receive a MCP card.
  • The MCP card will be used to verify the conditions of your payment .
  • Now the Anganwadi workers will identify the beneficiaries who are eligible for this prestigious scheme and the eligible beneficiaries will be asked to open a bank account with the NEFT banking facility.
  • The beneficiaries will have to submit the photocopies of the bank passbook to the Anganwadi worker.
  • Then the worker will give two copies of the self-declaration form to the beneficiary.
  • Now the beneficiary has to fill the self-declaration form and attach the photographs of your husband or guardian.
  • After that submit important documents related to your identities such as your Aadhar Card and the photocopy of your MCP card.
  • The Angadwadi worker will have to keep copies of important documents and have to send the documents to the Child Development Project Officer.
  • After 4 months of pregnancy, the child development project officer will upload all of your details to the official portal and you will be provided with the money.
