The Chief Minister of West Bengal state Mamta Banerjee along with State Labour Minister Mr.Moloy Ghatak has launched WB Chaa Sundari Scheme. The West Bengal government has launched this scheme on September 17, 2020. This scheme has been introduce for the tea laborers & workers of the West Bengal state. Under this scheme, the West Bengal government will provide houses to the tea workers who do not own any house. The tea workers are working very hard to increase the production of tea in West Bengal state. So, the government has decided to give them subsidy on various food items & houses to those who do not have one. There are almost 800 families who get houses under this scheme. The government has decided to give this scheme 3 years (2021, 2022 & 2023) for the successful implementation. The total budget of Rs.500 crores has been decided for this scheme.

WB Chaa Sundari Scheme 2024 Objective
The West Bengal government has started this scheme with the objective to give houses to all the poor workers. The government is trying their best to improve the lifestyle of tea workers of West Bengal state. Earlier, the tea workers receives Rs.67/- as their daily wage after working hard in the tea gardens. Now the West Bengal government has increase the daily wage to Rs.176/-. Soon, the government will again change the wage rate of these workers. The West Bengal government has also taken the task to reopen the 3 closed tea estates in the West Bengal state. The finance department of West Bengal state has taken the task to reopen the Madhu, Budapani & Surendranagar.

Eligibility Criteria
