CM B.S Yediyurappa launched this scheme with an aim to provide financial support to the weaver of the state. The weaver who engaged in the handloom and textile industry can receive the benefits of the scheme. According to the scheme, the financial assistance will be sent to their bank accounts of the beneficiary.

The Nekar Samman Yojana Karnataka launched this scheme on 6th July 2020 in Bengaluru. About 19,744 weavers of the state received benefits of the scheme in its first phase. Under the scheme, yearly assistance of RS 2000 will be given to the weavers of the state. The Department of Handlooms and Textiles, Government. of Karnataka sees all the working of the scheme. It will help in enhancing livelihood of the weavers. Nekar Samman Yojana will be help in promoting businesses of the weavers. The State Government has given approval of RS 10.96 crore rupees for the successful implementation of the scheme.
