About Kerala Abhayakiranam Scheme
Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala has launched the Kerala Abhayakiranam Scheme. Under this scheme the government will provide a safe and better living environment to destitute and homeless widows. The Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month for 6 months. In the beginning of the scheme the State Government has granted Administrative Sanction to provide financial assistance to 200 persons for 6 months at Rs, 1,000/-. The financial assistance will be provided to the close relatives of poor and needy widows who provides shelter to them.

Eligibility Criteria
To avail the benefit under Kerala Abhayakiranam Scheme, you should fulfil these eligibility criteria:
- Applicant should be a permanent citizen of Kerala State.
- Applicant should be a destitute widow.
- Age limit of the applicant (destitute widow) must be above 50 years.
- Annual family income should be below Rs. 1,00,000/-.
- Applicant should not be receiving a service pension or family pension.
- Applicant should not be a beneficiary of schemes implemented through the Social Justice Department (Aswasakiranam, Samashwasam).

- Attested copy of SSLC certificate/Election ID card/ Aadhaar card for age proof
- Attested copy of Ration card
- Income certificate from Village office
