Election Commission of India ECI has developed the Suvidha webPortal which ensures a level playing field upholding the democratic principles of free, fair and transparent elections. It provides permission for organizing rallies, door to door campaigning video vans, helicopters, opening temporary party offices, obtaining vehicle permits, distributing pamphlets. Within the duration of 20 days since the announcement of elections and Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force, the Suvidha Portal received 73,379 permission requests from political parties and candidates out of which 44,626 request (it is about 60%) has been approved. About 11,200 requests has been rejected (which is about 15%) of the total requests received and around 10,819 applications has been canceled due to invalid or duplication. Remaining applications are under process.
